ETH Price Range: 3 Levels for Ethereum Swing Traders
Investors who bought and held Ethereum over the past few years have mostly lost money. But Ethereum swing traders have had plenty to write home about. ETH hasn’t really seen a sustained uptrend since the 2020/2021 bull market. Instead, it’s traded in a wide range – with big rallies and big drops. According to this chart, ETH is at the bottom of that range now.
Ethereum’s price range, plotted
The chart shows the weekly price candles of ETH and zooms out a few years. The green box is the bottom of the trading range at around $1,400 to $1,750 per ETH. The red box is the top ($3,750 to $4,100). These support and resistance zones aren’t exact – they’re just general areas where buyers and sellers have shown up in the past.
The dotted grey line is the mid-range level – at around $2,750. Above that line, buyers control the range. Below it, sellers do.
You’ll also see one “deviation” above the red box. In late 2025, ETH broke above the range and made a new record high near $5,000. But it couldn’t hold those prices for long. The price slipped back inside the range – trapping anyone who bought the breakout. And once the price closed back inside the range, it had a clear path to the other side. That’s exactly what happened: ETH fell all the way back to the green box.
How to swing trade the Ethereum price range
Range traders use a simple strategy: buy near the bottom of the range, sell near the top. Under that strategy, ETH is in the buy zone now. If the range holds, a bounce has room to run toward the mid-level of $2,750 first. That’s where a conservative trader would take some chips off the table. Next is the red zone above it – more than 100% up from here.
Buying near support also caps the damage if you’re wrong. If ETH loses the green box, the range is broken – and you can get out with a relatively small loss.
That’s what good swing trading is all about: bigger upside if you’re right, smaller loss if you’re wrong.
